Heart of Worship
As I am sitting here listening to my husband write in our basement, I am reminded how important it is to have a heart of worship. We travel a lot because my husband is a freelance musician. He plays at churches all over the southeast. So therefore, I hear many different styles of worship.
I hear the churches that have it all together, production, lights, media, music but no heart. No passion.
I hear churches that are singing the songs they sing every 3rd Sunday of the month because Mary Joe likes it because it reminds her of her dog Spot that died when she was 4 years old.
I hear churches that sing to God with all of their heart because the worship leader listens to God who leads him to lead the church in passionate, God led worship.
Churches must remember that worship is solely for one purpose and that is to passionately praise God and prepare your heart to hear from Him in mighty ways. God speaks to people through worship. Song choice is not out of preference or favorites. As a worship leader my husband is expected to speak and listen to God for what HE (GOD) wants to USE to glorify HIM (GOD).
God wants to use us (meaning everyone) to see people saved and build relationships with Him. So be used. Create an atmosphere the lost would feel comfortable in. Reach a new generation. Give them the surroundings that appeal to them. After all isn’t GOD just as beautiful and attractive as Satan. Can’t he use the best of the best media, lights, production, etc. passionately for His purpose. Use your talents and gifts to attract the lost. Don’t be self-fish and use church as a safe haven for the saved. Live radically for our Lord!
Have a heart of worship and set the example, remember the people that are lost might not understand the Bible or Christ or salvation so worship in a language they do understand. Let God speak to them. Do not over-ride God and play favorites.
I am ready for a generation to lead a radical revolution for our Lord. I want to be a part of a movement. I want to feel the freedom to dance, sing, worship, and feel Gods presence with other Christians that want it too!
I am sooo hungry for a movement of passion. Lord I pray that you create a hunger in your people for a movement of love, heart, worship and praise for YOU!

This is an amazing blog, and it reflects your heart! I can’t sing but boy I try! My calling is to speak to teenage girls about self image/self worth issues. I am praying daily for God to open doors and allow it to happen. I will pray for your husband’s ministry and for God to bring you an amazing night of worship at your next event! Thanks! Holly
( I am the director of a small event at our church called Searching for the Beauty Within its going to be held on September 13th. For the past 6years, I have had speakers come in but this year God has pressed me heart to tell my story. I finally gave in and I am going to speak. Please pray that this may be the starting point for something even greater! )
